Incorporated in 1888, Escondido is one of the oldest cities in San Diego County. Housing in Escondido can be as different as unincorporated communities such as Jesmond Dene and Hidden Meadows, where homeowners have Escondido addresses but cannot participate in elections, to newer developments filled with amenities. There are also open space areas such as Harmony Grove, which is filled with homes on large lots with horses and hiking trails. Escondido is also home to three lakes and large areas focused on agriculture with avocados as a prime crop. Escondido’s Performing Arts Center offers everything from the ballet to nationally recognized plays. This community is fun to explore just to see what else you can find.
